This now regular update about the status of the Muskoka Lakes Association Water Level Task Force (WLTF – the “Task Force”) is the fifth in our communication series. We’ve been busy.
We’re focusing on getting solid data so we can effectively present to our political leaders – not to mention the MNRF.
Your Muskoka Lakes Association needs your help! Change in how our water levels are managed is CRITICAL!
This short survey (less than 5 minutes) will assist the WLTF to understand the 2016 flooding event and help in making a strong case for a change in how our lake levels are managed in the future.
Please also pass this fact gathering survey along to Muskoka waterfront neighbours, family or friends that may be interested, even if they are not members of the MLA. Please complete this survey as soon as possible.

If you have pictures of structure or shoreline damage you would like to share, please either email lisa@mla.on.ca or post on our Facebook page (Muskoka Lakes Association). NOTE: Submission of pictures gives the MLA permission to use the pictures as needed.
As happens every spring, we are hearing multiple reports of boats travelling at inappropriate speeds on the water. This can cause severe damage to already fragile boathouses, docks and shorelines. If you are on the water, or have a contractor on the water you can ask, please make sure that ‘no wake’ speeds are used when anywhere close to shore. If you are able to, try and open your boathouse doors to minimize potential damage as well.
GO SLOWLY IF YOU ARE BOATING IN STILL FLOODED AREAS!!
The WLTF has held or scheduled meetings with officials including Norm Miller, MPP; Terry Rees of the Federation of Ontario Cottage Associations; Mayors of Muskoka Lakes, Bracebridge, Gravenhurst, Seguin; District Chair John Klinck; and Minister of Natural Resources and Forestry Bill Mauro.
As always, please don’t hesitate to contact us at lisa@mla.on.ca.
PLEASE COMPLETE THE SURVEY ASAP!
